Jina, dear! You will not die. Your name will turn into a symbol.’
-Epitaph of Jina Amini
Jina Amini was killed by Iran's 'morality police' in September 2022, sparking protests in Tehran and across Iran against the theocratic, authoritarian regime of Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
The international community must condemn the violent actions of the Ayatollah's Regime, and support the Iranian people in their fight for freedom from misogyny, bigotry, & oppression.
I am Jina Amini, daughter & Kurd
I came here to go shopping with my brother
And my word, I have come to shop for everything
Along the Grand Bazaar
I’ll take a rose like this when you place it in my palm
Tehran, Tehran, I am Jina Amini
I will take the fuckin' Ayatollah & all his Stately tools
And I will turn them in to mud for the daffodils
I’ll be in the Bazaar, hijab flying free
Captured only by a camera for prosterity
Tehran, Tehran, I am Jina Amini
The price is revolution for these discounted destinies
The Son-Shine, Daughter-Die University
But all the rage, and all the stories
Hidden from the light
Tonight will be unveiled, one & one-thousand moons bright!
And from a million miles away
I see you, arm in arm
I went shopping for everything...
Now we take back Tehran
Tehran, Tehran
Jin, Jiyan, Azadi
Tehran, Tehran
I am Jina Amini
